Los Angeles (AP) — Santa Ana winds are weakening across Southern California, and utilities are restoring power to thousands of customers who have been cut off to prevent wildfires.
On Thanksgiving Day, the dry seasonal winds caused strong gusts, knocking down trees and causing other damage. On the other hand, the traditional family dinner was interrupted by the interruption of public safety power.
No major wildfires have been reported at the peak of Santa Ana wind events, but fire alarms regarding fire hazards are valid until Friday evening.
Approximately 26,100 Southern California Edison customers and 3,000 San Diego Gas & Electric customers are unpowered.
